Researching energy sources
When people think of how electricity is generated, they typically envision large power plants that convert a source into electricity. Unlike other areas that depend on coal for generation, the Pacific Northwest is fortunate that most of its generation is through hydropower facilities that convert the strength of water to spin turbines that generate electricity. The PUD is constantly researching other methods of power generation.
