PUD Recognized as a Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3)

Snohomish County PUD is honored to be recognized as a Platinum Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3) by the American Public Power Association (APPA) for providing reliable and safe electric service to its customers.

To earn the RP3 designation, public power utilities must demonstrate proficiency in four key disciplines:

System Improvement

The PUD’s grid modernization work it is doing today will increase service reliability, grid resiliency and operational efficiencies tomorrow. The PUD, which is one of only 250 utilities in the nation recognized as an RP3 utility, was awarded 95 out of a possible 100 points on its application to earn Platinum-level recognition.

The RP3 designation lasts from May 1, 2025 through April 30, 2028.
